Task 1a: Professional profile

From my understanding of this task I am to rewrite my CV into a blog profile. From looking at some students blogs who are further on in this course I noted that many of them had posted their actual CV, and had received comments on how they could improve. As my professional work has so far been through the ISTD and working for the college at where I trained any additional employment I have gained has been through word of mouth and by reference from the college. So not until recently when I began to branch out into to the education sector I have not had the need for a professional CV, therefore, I have decided to first of all post my CV in the hope of receiving some feedback or comments on how it could be improved. I have also written a profile, which after much frustration and many hours I have managed to upload (if that is the correct term) to this blog, although I feel it may need further detail.

I'm pretty shocked that I managed to do this but this is the link to my CV

HOW DO I BEGIN……..

While reading through the module I began to feel very overwhelmed by the task ahead of me. I am enormously uninformed in the world of web based technologies having limited experience only with Facebook and I can never think of anything of worth to post there, so needless to say this will be a new challenge for me.
After I spent a while staring at a black word document I decided to read other peoples blogs to try and find inspiration on how to start my blogging journey. Feeling very apprehensive, I found courage reading through other students blogs who are further into the course than me. I’m also beginning to understanding the idea behind immersing fully into the blogging experience by posting possibly uncompleted work for comments and commenting on others. It’s a concept that I find uncomfortable, opening up my work for scrutiny from my peers. By spending time reading through other people’s posts and the comments made about them I have come to appreciate the process better and understand that it will help me to better my work, as reading through what other people have written has given me inspiration and ideas for my own tasks. It also cleared up what is expected from some of the tasks.

I am by nature a very private person who to the frustration of those around me, keep most of my thoughts and feeling to myself, therefore writing down my thoughts and refection’s is a skill that I will need to develop through this module. So although I am still feeling slightly apprehensive about this process I am ready to embrace the challenge…
